Palaces in Ukraine

Bakhchisaray Palace
Khan's Palace or Hansaray is located in the town of Bakhchisaray, Crimea, Ukraine. It was built in the 16th century and became home to a succession of Crimean Khans. The walled enclosure contains a mosque, a harem, a cemetery, living quarters and gardens. The palace interior has been decorated to appear lived in and reflects the traditional 16th century Crimean Tatar style.

Dubno Castle
Founded in 1492 by Prince Konstantin Ostrogski on a promontory overlooking the Ikva River not far from the ancient Ruthenian fort in Dubno, Volhynia.
Livadia Palace
A summer retreat of the last Russian tsar, Nicholas II, and his family in Livadiya, Crimea in southern Ukraine. The Yalta Conference was held there in 1945, when the palace housed the apartments of Franklin Delano Roosevelt and other members of the American delegation. Today the palace houses a museum, but it is sometimes used by the Ukrainian authorities for international summits.

Mariyinsky Palace
A picturesque Baroque palace on the hilly bank of the Dnieper River. The palace is the official ceremonial residence of the President of Ukraine and adjoins the neo-classical building of the Verkhovna Rada (parliament) of Ukraine.
Vorontsov's Palace (Alupka)
An historic palace located in the town of Alupka, Ukraine. It is situated at the foot of the Crimean Mountains.
Zolochiv Castle
A residence of the Sobieski noble family on a hill at the confluence of two small rivers in the south-eastern part of Zolochiv, Galicia.

The rectangular fort was built in 1634-36 by Jakub Sobieski. The Sobieski castle comprised solid walls in a then current Dutch style, with four pentagonal towers at each corner, and the so-called "grand palace". The Chinese Palace, a diminutive mauve-colored rotunda flanked by one-storey wings, was added later in the century as Jan III's gift to his French-born wife, Marysieńka.
